PlayStation’s offer requires an eligible digital GTA VI purchase and a separate GTA+ redemption. Sony lists March 31, 2027 as the claim deadline and says the month continues into a paid subscription unless cancelled before the next payment date.
What the PlayStation GTA+ offer gives you
An eligible digital GTA VI purchase on PlayStation can qualify for one month of GTA+ at no extra cost, but you still need to claim that month. The game order and the membership claim are separate steps. Seeing GTA+ in the game's included-items list does not prove that the membership is already active on your account.
Sony's published offer covers digital Standard and Ultimate purchases made before November 20, 2026, subject to its account, age and country conditions. The published claim deadline is March 31, 2027. Keep those as two different dates: one concerns the qualifying game purchase, and the other concerns when you must complete the membership claim.
The month continues into a paid subscription unless you cancel before the next payment date. This is the detail to check before you press confirm. You can enjoy a promotion and still control future spending, but only if you know which account received it and what the next billing screen actually says.
Check your purchase before looking for the promotion
Start with the receipt for the digital game. Confirm the PlayStation account, the exact product and the purchase date. In a home with several users, the account currently highlighted on the console may not be the one that paid. The qualifying purchase needs to be linked to the account on which you look for the offer.
Then confirm that your order really is a digital PlayStation purchase covered by Sony's conditions. A boxed code bought from a retailer is a different purchase route, even though redeeming it ultimately downloads a game. Do not assume every way of obtaining GTA VI brings this particular PlayStation Store membership promotion.
If you bought a game as a gift or someone else placed the order, settle account ownership first. A receipt addressed to one person does not automatically create a claim on another person's account. Ask who made the qualifying transaction and keep the order number available if support needs to trace it.
Read the country and age restrictions
Use the offer shown for your PlayStation account's country. Sony's public terms list excluded country stores, including Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Russia and Taiwan. If your storefront is excluded, a guide for the US store does not override that restriction. Check the local offer instead of repeatedly trying the same unavailable transaction.
The offer also requires the age conditions for both GTA VI and GTA+ to be met. A game appearing in a family library does not mean every family member can claim the subscription. Use the platform's normal account and family controls. Changing random settings or borrowing another person's identity is not a useful way to investigate eligibility.
If you have moved country, distinguish where you are now from the country assigned to your account. The account storefront is relevant to the offer you can claim. Look at the store currency and account information before comparing an offer screenshot sent by someone abroad. Their page may describe a different set of conditions.
Follow the claim route from the official game page
Sign into the account that made the eligible purchase. Open PlayStation's official GTA VI page and use its GTA+ product link, or find that product through the PlayStation Store while signed into the same account. Sony instructs buyers to complete the on-screen membership transaction at no extra cost.
Read the final transaction details carefully. Check that the promotional month is being offered and that the amount due matches the promotion before confirming. If you see only an ordinary paid subscription, stop at that screen. Paying the normal price is not a reliable method of making an absent promotion appear afterward.
Once you confirm the claim, save the confirmation or transaction reference. Return to account subscription management and check whether GTA+ is listed. You now want evidence that the membership is active, rather than only evidence that you own GTA VI. Keeping both records makes later questions much easier to describe.
Record the billing date displayed to you
The claim screen identifies when the promotional month continues into a paid subscription. Write down that date from your own account. Do not work it out from the game's release date or someone else's redemption. The date you claim and whether you already subscribe can affect how the next payment is presented.
If your aim is to use only the included month, set a reminder with enough room to act before the next charge. A reminder at the last minute is fragile if you cannot sign in or need to recover the account. Give yourself time to open subscription management and check that the desired change took effect.
Also read the continuing amount and billing frequency shown for your country. A no-extra-cost first month says nothing about whether later payments fit your budget. Consider the real cost over the time you expect to keep the membership, rather than treating the initial promotion as though it makes the whole year free.
What changes if you already have GTA+?
Sony says an existing subscriber receives the promotional month added to the existing subscription after claiming. You still need to follow the claim steps. Owning the game and already paying for GTA+ are not, together, proof that the extra month has been applied without any action from you.
Before the claim, note the current subscription information. Afterward, look again for the added period or changed next payment details. This gives you something concrete to compare. If the result is unclear, keep both transaction references and ask PlayStation support to explain how the offer was applied to your membership.
The offer is limited to one claim per account, regardless of additional purchases. Buying another edition is therefore not a method for collecting several free months on that same account. Choose your game edition for its actual contents and price, then handle the single membership promotion as a separate benefit.
Decide whether renewal is worth keeping
GTA+ and the Ultimate Edition Upgrade are different products. The upgrade adds game content; GTA+ is a membership with its own terms and benefits. A subscription promotion should not make you believe that the main game purchase is incomplete or that buying Ultimate automatically settles every future membership cost.
Look at the current GTA+ benefits and ask which you would use during the next paid month. A long list can look valuable while offering little that fits the way you play. It is reasonable to claim an eligible promotion and later decide that the continuing membership is not worth paying for.
For a household budget, keep separate lines for the game, any edition upgrade and recurring subscriptions. This stops a one-time entertainment purchase quietly becoming a string of monthly payments you did not plan. If you choose to renew, make it a deliberate choice based on the service you are actually getting.
Cancel renewal through subscription management
If you do not want to continue paying, use PlayStation's subscription controls for GTA+ before the displayed next payment date. Read the confirmation screen so you understand the effect and the period of access it shows. Do not assume removing a game from the console changes a subscription that is managed through the account.
Check subscription management again after the change. Look for the cancellation or ending status and keep the confirmation. A reminder marked done is not evidence that billing changed. The account's current subscription state is what tells you whether your request took effect and whether a future payment remains scheduled.
Keep a game cancellation separate too. If you later cancel GTA VI, ask how the particular purchase and promotional terms apply. Do not assume that changing one transaction automatically completes every action for another. The game order, membership status and bank payment can each show a different stage.
If the offer is missing or the claim fails
First check the account, qualifying digital purchase, order date, country and age conditions. Then check whether this account has already claimed the offer and whether the claim deadline has passed. These are useful checks because each can explain why a normal GTA+ product page appears without the promotion.
If those details look correct, record the exact message or the amount shown at checkout and use PlayStation's official support route. Supply the game order reference and explain that the promotional GTA+ claim is missing. You do not need to disclose your password, and a public screenshot should not expose payment or recovery details.
Before leaving the issue, confirm three things: the game is in the correct library, the membership claim has a result, and the next payment choice matches your intention. Those checks turn a confusing preorder extra into a clear account record. You can then return to planning the game itself without an unresolved monthly charge in the background.
